Steady Grinding

The past 2 weeks have been really hectic, but in "industry terms" that means productive and successful. More and more each day, I feel like with the hard work I am getting closer to my dreams; Appreciating all who support me daily and encourage to keep pushing, I get up and try my best to get to it, putting the best foot forward.

More so than anything I relish the opportunity to leave a mark on this planet. Life is too short, and time is too precious to waste so I am all for it, and committed. In More recent times I have gotten the chance to meet and collaborate with some very inspirational people; knowledgeable to say the least, I have learned so much, and have found a way to put my twist on things. By far I may not be the best, I acknowledge there are still mountains to climb, but I can find confidence in the fact that people tell me I am doing a good job.

It may not be much but at this point in life, its all I need. I know it gets greater later!

Lil Wayne unveils TRUKFIT clothing

Is there anything that Lil Wayne cannot do? That is a valid question that I am beginning to ask myself. I have been a fan of the entire Cash Money Records Movement since the Cutlass, Monte Carlos and Regals days. To clarify, we're talking the mid 90s. That predates the label's evolution which has seen CMB become arguably the most powerful record label in the world. I often think of the fact that I nor anyone else, outside of CMB can honestly testify to imagining Wayne's catapult to definitively being TOP 5 DEAD OR ALIVE, as an artist that is. My opinion is not just based on lyrics alone; he has progressed from the sidekick, an after thought in the Hot Boyz rap group, to Stunting like His Daddy, to the series of Carter albums, up to Lil Wayne -President of Cash Money Records/CEO of Young Money Entertainment. Have you ever heard the term, meteoric rise? Well Wayne's ascension is the epitome of the word.

His latest venture substantiates his existence as a cultural icon; his impact and relevance transcends race, creed, or color. Lil Wayne is a brand! The conversation of whether or not he is better than certified G.O.A.T candidates Jay Z, Nas, and Eminem is senseless at this point. More than anything people should celebrate his creativity, his vision, his growth, and the longevity. Forget us not that Lil Wayne is a product of the golden era of rap- the 90s- when tours raked in millions, as well as album sales. The "Good Ol days" some might say.

Well for visionairies like Lil Wayne, days are always good. 'Why?" you might ask, because the payoff for their hustle makes it so. With TrukFit clothing, Lil Wayne is embarking on a new sector of Hip Hop culture- Fashion. This past weekend Lil Wayne unveiled items for his skateboard inspired brand which will official debut at the Agenda Tradeshow in New York City this coming 23rd through 25th of January. With its motto, "Respect few, fear None" there should be little doubt that this venture too will take off and add some more zeros to the YMCMB Empire.

As of now, the line is to include T-shirts, hats, and other skateboarding apparel accessories. No official information has been given as it pertains to retail stores, and purchasing outlets. For more details on TrukFit the brand, visit:

The Sentiments of M.M.G artist Pill

I guess I can say that I was fooled as well. If I had not heard this interview, quite possibly I would not have known any better. What would seem to be the perfect set up, is truly not the golden ticket that it was perceived to be. There has been much made on the internet about Maybach Music Artist Pill's dissatisfaction with his career as it stands, and his frustration with some of the decision making by the powers that be. After the kind of year that MMG had in 2011, who expect any form of friction out of that camp? Certainly not me. Although I have had my doubts about MMG's mainstream capabilities as it pertains to BDS and Soundscan figures, there overall brand can not be questioned. Rick Ross has taken his brainchild to incomparable heights (in todays market) with the help of some height makers, namely Meek Mill and Wale. Be that as it may, I have always seen Pill as a viable contributor. Now as I re-cap, I believe that there is a lot of validity to his gripes.

I am a firm believer in the fact that an individual will reap the benefits of the hard work that they put in. I do not condone the so-called piggy-backing that happens in this world. I for one, like to stand on my own credits. BUT when you are dealing with a team, the principle should always be team work. As far as the collective goes, so shall the individuals provide it they are committed. If you hear Pill tell it, he has been committed since day one; To date I have not heard otherwise said about him. The question remains, where was the push, or is rather? We have gotten healthy doses of Wale's work, as well as Mr. Flamers himself Meek Milly. Pill took to MTV News recently to finally and quite frankly, truly, sound off. Do I agree with his approach? Not in the least. I am a large proponent of handling family beefs, as family. But therein lies the problem; I once heard it said by a wise man nonetheless, there is not always room for family in business. I guess that explains Pill's position.

In this technological/social media day and age, nothing remains a secret when you are playing on such a grand scale. It was only a matter of time before the elephant in the room would be addressed. While Ross is popping Cristal (1996 edition as he and French Montana exclaims), toasting to a new venture there is a seed is discontent within his movement. By and large, one bad apple does not spoil the batch, only in philosophy. But what can occur is a domino affect. What will happen when Wale's 3rd album comes out, and Meek Mill's does not. What if Triple C were to get their 15 minutes, and divulge? For now its mere speculation, but what is not is THE SENTIMENTS OF PILL: MMG's own. Take a listen for yourself here:
