Monica and Brandy reminisce

RIP WHITNEY HOUSTON.......

Her legacy is that of a seemingly immortal being. Her resume of accomplishments is almost incomparable. Iconic to say the least, her tragic death is an amazing sources of sadness for fans worldwide. Not only are friends and family stricken with grief but so is the common man and woman. Funeral Services are scheduled for this coming Saturday @ New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. The send off is by invitation only, but fans and supporters will assuredly come out in droves to pay their last respects if only on the perimeter of the church.

There has been video footage released by E!News, of Brandy and Monica, on the set of their newest video for the collab, It All Belongs to Me ,describing their last moments spent with the icon, and other memories; the trio had been practicing for Clive Davis' Annual Pre-Grammy Gala in Los Angeles this past weekend.

Appreciation

I heard it said that it would be better to celebrate love everyday and not isolate the feeling and gratitude to one day. I reckon that seems like the exact thing I must do; more than in a relationship sense, the embrace of love and appreciation for being loved is becoming increasingly imperative as the days are narrowing down. Not being prophetic or nothing, just in the sense that regardless of what we may here, the life expectancy on things are slimming. Aside from eternally being bound by blood or a union sanctified by God (even if without a license for it) the chances of maintaining are subject to a lottery if you will. With that being said to all that matter accept this as my first submission.

This is Not Harlem, but its Reality TV

Much has been made about the whole Chrissy and Yandy beef on 'Love and Hip Hop' Ive had my opinion for quite some time that Chrissy was peeved by Yandy trying to expand her brand, at what I thought was Chrissy's expense. "Her Avenue" as she calls it was not big enough for the both of them. Can you fault Yandy? Not by far! Hustlers are going to hustle, and from where I am from- you respect that, hands down. Guess true colors came alive in this season. When its all said and done, when brands are at stake, you must protect at all cost; personally I just cannot co-sign blocking someone else. You do the knowledge.

On top of all the BS, the Reunion is set to lose some of its luster, as the ladies do not care to be in the same room filming the show. WACK! The entire time they have referred to their checks, and the business of it all. That should be maintained about all. Whats beef, if we're still gonna eat? What do you think?

Kicking Knowledge?

Equally puzzled was I when I first learned of the title of Wiz Khalifa's forthcoming project, Only.N*gga.In.First.Class With an increasing demand for distinguishingly creatively as it concerns releases, and branding, I thought that this was just another ploy to seperate himself and build on the brand, cult like following he has already established since Black and Yellow. However it has been explained to me, from the horses mouth, no less that the meaning behind the choice of title, the project in its entirety is a little more complexed.

Have you ever felt like a fish out of water heading towards first class? Not merely first class, if you have ever been the victim of that awkward moment that accompanies the silence of people staring when you walked into a room where it is perceived that you should not be- this album is for you. On Shade 45s "Sway in the Morning" show, Wiz had this to say:

"The title takes a page from Mobb Deep member Prodigy’s 2000 debut Head Ni**a in Charge. It’s inspired by Prodigy’s H.N.I.C., when he dropped that, I felt like that sounded so strong.”

Going on to explain that O.N.I.F.C. also speaks to the more serious issue of racism he’s encountered while traveling through airports:

“I was just talking about me being a young rich dude and being black. It looks crazy to them when I walk up to them and show them my ticket or I’m going in priority seating, They’re like, ‘You’re sure?’”

With respect to the adversities of being a young black star, who is very rich, Wiz had this to say:

“It’s a good feeling and then it’s like a bad feeling because it’s like, ‘Damn, why do you feel like that about me”

Will these type of occurences fully subside? Probably not, but the key to it in my eyes is to embrace and let it motivate. The more prevalent it comes for us to be in these places, experiencing said lifestyle, the more familiarity there will be. At the end of the day, care not if it is accepted, make it happen! I applaud the brother Wiz for being insightful and having substance behind his music. You may think its all scented appearances, but with this right here he is showing you that it is more than meets the eye.

Pick up O.N.I.F.C when it drops, and experience the life.

Ever wondered what it would take to book the hottest female in rap?
