BET Upfronts 2012

This past Wednesday at the Best Buy Theater here in NYC, some of the finest actors and actresses TV, and screen has to offer gathered to celebrate the BET UPFRONT gala; If you do not know, this is when BET premieres its fall roster, program wise and introduces not only the cast but the creators behind each production. Check out some highlights, and the rundown:

+ The gorgeous Mara-Brock Akil spoke about "The Game" and "Being Mary Jane", starring Gabrielle Union.

+ Judge Mathis promoted his show "The Mathis Project,” which will be about unsolved homicides

+ Cedric the Entertainer was in the building to support and show face; In my opinion one of the funniest dudes ever, will serve as host for the 2012 Soul Train Music Awards airing on BET's sister channel, Centric, in Las Vegas.

+ Wendy Williams kicked it about her "Wendy" talk show whch airs late nights on the channel

+ For the Fall, Kevin Hart is bringing back his mock-reality show he debuted during the All-Star game "House Husbands." BET has picked it up and made it a semi-scripted sketch comedy series.

+ Chris Rock is not the only person with that last name making moves. Sibling rivalry maybe? Nah just kidding, but shout out to brother Tony Rock who will host the revamping of an instituion as Centric brings back the "Apollo Live" series.

+ Sharp as ever the brother TJ Holmes was on hand to remind the masses where they can get the news from come this Fall, as he will be hosting his own late night current events themed program, "Don't Sleep."

+ The Jacksons are back; well not exactly. However the closest thing that we have seen in terms of the institution of family making it in show business, the Wayans, will be celebrated by BET as George Gore II, Marlon Wayans, Tatyana Ali, Damien Dante Wayans and Craig Wayans will be starring in the new series "Second Generation Wayans."
