Such is the personification of singer/songwriter/lyricist Charles C.P. Caldwell.
I Am One of A Kind groupmember Charles CP Caldwell has released his Chocolate Project solo effort to much applause and acclaim. In an effort to further brand their collective artistry, as well as individual talent, IAMOOAK stands behind their bandmate in support of his setting the stage which will see releases from the rest of the members in anticipation of a group full-length CD due out late 2013.
About CP
Born and raised in Bronx, NY, Charles Alexander Caldwell has always used music as his salvation. When troubling times and tribulations tugged at his resolve, there was the pen. Becoming the most therapeutic means to release, CP began to compose lyrics that spoke to his innermost thoughts and feelings about the world that he lived in and the one that he dreamed of. Having always been influenced by the music that played so frequently in his families home where he grew up, under the tutelage of his uncle CP developed a profound passion for music and performance. One of his crowning moments came as he was accepted into the Harbor School for Performing Arts, on a singing scholarship; it was there that he expanded his skill set to that of poet, which was followed by such accomplishments as a 10-city tour of Italy as a member of the choir.
As a teen his family moved to Eastchester, NY where he learned more about himself as well as the business of life, and industry. His ambition fueled his high school years, as he excelled in the classroom, earning acceptance to the much heralded St John’s University. Struck once again by tragedy (CP was the victim of 3rd degree burns over 95 % of his body as an adolescent) his father passed, a mere one week before he received his HS diploma. Pouring himself into his art, Charles began to profess his craft to all those that would listen and soon was rewarded with the recognition of and reverence for his talent.
Circa 2002, I Am One Of A Kind was born, along with his founding partner Deacon Jackson, and a recording career commenced.

With influences such as Michael Jackson, Al Jareau, Anita Baker, Diana Ross, Luther Vandross, Boys II Men, and Stevie Wonder, it is understood where his studious approach and application derives from. Following in the footsteps of legends is his goal.
