COVERING ALL FACETS OF ENTERTAINMENT, NUBIA EMMON

Nubia Emmon is a multi-talented singer/rapper, dancer and songwriter and is the most sought after artist in Austin. Born in the “Capital of Live Music” –Austin, Texas - music flows through Nubia; she is a distant cousin of The Queen of Gospel, Mahalia Jackson, her father grew up performing in an R&B band along with his brothers and sisters and her brother also performs in his own band (Silly Aces). This innate love for music and constantly being in the presence of her family’s artistry was passed on to Nubiawho was singing by the time she was 3.

Nubia has performed solo, in duets and with live bands, including her brother’s band, “Sillly Aces”. Demand has also grown for her to do collaborations which has included Def Jam's recording artist, Lil Niqo, who jumped on her track 'Dancing Machine'.

Fueled with even more passion and determination to realize her dream of becoming a world class performer, Nubia is working hard in the studios with various producers including platinum producers. Recognizing her talent, listening fans of Austin’s KAZI (FM-88.7) voted Nubia number one in three categories; “Best Radio R&B Artist, Best Female Radio Song (Burn), and Best Female R&B Live 2012” at the KAZI Radio Showcase Awards in December, 2012.  Most recently, Nubia captured 1st place, as the dominating artist of #HistoryInTheMaking showcasing event presented by InDaLab Records at the world renowned Santos Party House in New York City.

Nubia has a socially conscious side and plans to use her talent in music to give back to her community through The Nubia Emmon Foundation, which focuses on building healthy relationships within families, motivating and serving youth and supporting healthy lifestyles. Inspired by her Mother's current fight with breast cancer, Nubia's signature project is the "Pretty Girls that Rock the Mic" - a concert series that highlights breast cancer awareness and female artists. A recent high school graduate (Class of 2012), Nubia was accepted into the prestigious Sarah & Ernest Butler School of Music summer program on a scholarship which she successfully completed in 2012.
