Is He this Misogynist

Banned from TV; your favorite controversial artist,Kanye West, is back at it again. I remember when kanye first released his album title, "Dark Twisted Fantasy" it was met with a lot of skepticism, and flat out lets call it what it is- FEAR. Subsequent to the MTV Awards/ Taylor Swift affair Kanye has been villified, all the way up to his blow up at Matt Lauer on Good Day; Warranted- at times yes, due to his inability to leave the things that are better left unsaid- UNSAID. But how can you rate a person whom artistic energy overflows in a rambunctious manner? They say that the most ingenious people are always the most criticized. I agree. It is not easy being different; thinking different; or acting- DIFFERENT.

I for one find so much freedom and life in what Kanye West stands for; Now I will not say that I agree with everything that he may do, but I am one who understands marketing. The fact is that if they are no longer talking, then you do not matter. With that in mind I tend to take Yeezy with a grain of salt, and look for the message rather than checking the messenger.

In comes the hook- one of his latest, and perhaps his greatest efforts "MONSTER" is under fire; A collaboration of the minds- Jay Z's Rick Ross' and Nicki's Monster has been a chart topper undoubtedly. There has been much anticipation in regards to the video. A few months back there was an internet leak, which was met with disdain by some highly influential persons. Stations like powerhouse MTV have refused to run it siding with feminists Sharon Haywood and Melinda Tankard whom cite, "That video contents increase desensitivity towards violence against women. In addition it is felt that the images glorified misogynistic behaviors, as well as abuse of the female gender. These forms of degradation of women are celebrated....."(paraphrase).

Those words might seem a little hard, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you havent seen the video yourself check it out and form your own:

By no means do I support the degradation of any subgroup. I support creativity in its rarest form provided it does not offend. in this instinct I think Kanye did his best to cinematically bring us the notion of what may occur is his DARK TWISTED FANTASY. Is it any different than a block buster movie which acts under all the pretenses of freedom of speech. I find it hard to believe that Yeezy purposefully wanted to offend of degrade; it is ART- something which is not always demonstrated within the same parameters of commonality as the rest of life. If you disagree, visit an art gallery nearest you and see what they have to offer- LIBERALISM; not for the faint of heart or ideals, I am sorry to say.

Do not run from your own Dark Twisted Fantasy, embrace it, and if you feel compelled-Share it with the world however you deem necessary, and by all means feel free to email me a copy.
