Used to be Emmotional, Now he's ready to Conquer
Emmotional is one of my Tp 6 R and B albums of all time; to this day I can listen to the entire disk straight through. I guess thats something that I picked up from listening to it consistently in my younger days in pops Restaurant in Harlem.
I was contemplating placing an APB on Carl Thomas wondering where he has been and why he hasnt put out any music (The Bad Boy curse maybe?) but thats another topic. I was perusing the net as I often do looking for news and updates and came across an AllHipHop.com feature on Carl. Residing in L.A. and working on a new album titled Conquer under Verve Music Group, recording home of legends like John Coltrane, Queen Latifah, Herbie Hancock, Avant, and Ella Fitzgerald.
“It’s the kind of project on the kind of label that allows me to use my crazy musical imagination and kind of step outside of my box and its even a little bit different than I thought I was going to be able to achieve,” Carl Thomas told AllHipHop.com of the album, which is due in stores this May.
To stir up the anticipation Carl Thomas is slated to drop a mixtape with the iconic DJ Kid Capri.
Glad to hear he is back in the studio and we should be getting something soon. Be on the look out and make sure you grab that, if you are in the mood of good R and B.
